Are you stuck in the winter blues? Fortunately for those of us living in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, there’s an anticipated event on the horizon that will shake things up. If you’re not already familiar, the Heinz History Center’s annual fundraising party is a fantastic event each and every time, and this year’s lineup of performances and activities will not disappoint.
The History Uncorked: Out of this World party takes place on Friday, February 15, but you’re going to want to get those tickets now. The party will feature space-themed activities placed throughout the Center’s five floors, including but not limited to astrology and tarot card readings. Guests will also have access to Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission exhibit on its final weekend at the Center. This epic display offers a unique look into the historic journey that made Neil Armstrong the first human to walk on the Moon. It’s truly a must-see! Once you’ve got your fill of space-themed fun, you’ll be able to enjoy live performances by Uptown Woods, a dance party hosted by DJ Bamboo, and special pop-up performances by Mars Jackson. If you’re feeling lucky after that tarot card reading, you’ll even have the opportunity to bid on exciting prizes at the party’s silent auction.
General admission tickets for the event cost $65 and along with entry to the event include two free drink tickets, complimentary bites and beverage samples from your favorite local vendors, access to the silent auction prizes, and activities galore throughout the night. If you want to step it up to VIP level, those tickets cost $110 and will grant you access to a private pre-reception complete with an open bar and delicious hors-d’oeuvres, as well as a one-year membership to the History Center which includes a subscription to the organization’s e-magazine.
You’re not going to want to miss this extra-special event, so be sure to purchase tickets soon. Grab a date, some friends, or a group of co-workers, and make a plan to come out and enjoy this celestial evening of food, drink, fun, and entertainment. You’ll have a great time mixing and mingling, plus you can feel good about the fact that all proceeds of the event go towards educational programming for the Heinz History Center, in order to keep this special affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution alive and thriving.
